Grey Knight Purifiers [3]

Making some progress on the Purifiers. All the difficult stuff is finished now, and it's just getting down to picking out some of the detail. Small objects on belts, grenades, reliquaries, etc.

Adding heraldry to the shoulder pads, and trying to make them unique. Can be a bit fiddly trying to paint on the curved surface of the pauldron, and keep a straight line. I carefully paint the outline using Mechrite Red, then fill in the background of the shape once painted. I then paint over the Mechrite with Blood Red to complete. It's a shame that GW didn't produce any decals for the Grey Knights line, because I'd really love those tiny little swords, and Inquisition symbols for the shoulder pads. I'm kinda stuck free handing them on which is fiddly and time consuming.

The addition of the red to the weapons is adding a bit more interest to the figures as well. They're quite boring with so much metallic silver on them! The gold certainly helps to break things up a bit, as well as the use of white, red, and black in the heraldry.

I've just got a few more little details to finish, and the squad will be done. Just some of the little dangly artifacts, scrolls, etc that are hanging from the backpacks mostly, and the snow bases.
