Dusted off my old Cave Troll from The Mines of Moria set and started painting him. He's been sitting around for awhile, because he needed a ton of green stuffing work to fill in all the gaps on him. Despite being plastic, he didn't fit together well. I started base coating his flesh with a mix of Adeptus Battlegray and Chaos Black, mixing in more gray as the highlights went on, with a final highlight on the rocky back parts of Battlegray. He was washed in a mix of Badab Black and Devlan Mud to help tone down the layering. I'm still not happy with the dark flesh, so I might go back and work on that some more.
The chest etc is a mix of Chaos Black and Dwarf Flesh, with successive highlights containing more Dwarf Flesh. As i've gotten to the finer highlights, I've switched to the thinner brush and added strokes of paint to try to pick out the musculature. It was washed with Ogryn Flesh to blend it together. It's looking good, but looks a little bit to new born flesh, so I might make up a mix of Dwarf Flesh and Kommando Khaki, or Battlegray and lighten it up a little bit. The thing lives underground, so it's not likely to be running around with a beach tan!
