Ork Nob

I was very excited about painting this one. Something totally different from the usual. I cleaned up the mold lines on the figure, and primed it with Chaos Black. The flesh was painted with Orkhide Green, then given a dry brushing of Dark Angels Green. Next a dry brush of Goblin Green to lighten up the flesh, and a final highlight of Camo Green. A final wash with Thraka Green really helped to blend in the colors, and lift the shading on the muscles. All the metal armored plates, axe, and gun was painted with Boltgun Metal and then washed with a watered down Black Ink to darken the metal. Edging was highlighted with Chainmail. The ammo drum on the gun, header of the bombstick, and power box on the back of the axe head were painted with Tin Bitz, then Dwarf Bronze, and a highlight of Shining gold around the plates. The rivets were painted with Boltgun Metal and then highlighted with Chainmail. The hair, shirt, and boots were dry brushed with Codex Gray, then highlighted with Fortress Gray. Finally they were washed with Badab Black. The pants, leather straps, various clothes, and wrist wrappings were painted in Scorched Brown, then Bestial Brown, with edging finished in Vomit Brown. The belt bag was painted with Vomit Brown instead of the Bestial Brown, and then the edging was done in Graveyard Earth. The checking on the shoulder pad was carefully painted with a 0-gauge brush and alternating Chaos Black and Skull White.
