• GW Paint Range Changes

So there's all kinds of rumors floating around about some major shake ups to Games Workshops paint range. Apparently the whole thing will be expanding from 73 paints to 144 paints. They will now be composed of Bases (foundation paint), Layers (the normal colors), Shades (aka washes), Dry (basically a thicker paint for dry brushing), Glazes (they're back again!), Texture (paint with sand in it), and Technical (liquid green stuff and friends). All the colors will be getting new names, so it'll get that much more complex trying to remember which paint your after. Prices are rumored to stay the same at this point.

One change most people were hoping for was an end to the current bottle design. Sadly this isn't going to happen. I don't find them that bad to use, but I will be sticking to using the Vallejo paints for the airbrush, as its much easier to load the airbrush with a dropper bottle than GW's paint catching design.

Apparently White Dwarf will be including a comparison chart in a future issue listing the old paints and their newer named counterparts. For example, Blood Red is becoming Wild Rider Red, Ultramarine Blue is Calgar Blue, Skull White is now White Scar.
