Land Raider Command Vehicle WIP

We've made a start on Bay's land raider. We're going to repaint it for his Blood Angels army. Unfortunately it's missing some parts, so we're going to have to go on the scrounge at the local Games Workshop and see if we can get a couple of spare laser cannons, and the little targeting device for the top of the sponson. Luckily the glue job on it was pretty shoddy, so we've been able to get most of the land raider apart for repainting. Even so, painting the interior is going to be pretty challenging. I'm never sure why people assemble these things, when they're easier to paint in pieces. That's a bit of a downside to buying something second-hand. I can't begin to fathom why they painted the interior out in flesh colors? We've started redoing the base coat in chaos black, and then painting the exterior base colors in Mechrite Red foundation paint. I'm thinking I'd like to do something a little different with this one, and maybe do a red camo scheme. Okay so a bright red tank with camouflage is possibly a little stupid, but I'm thinking more of something to make the plain red look more interesting. Some kind of patterning in red shades? We've also got the command parts from the command sprue, and we'll add those to make it a command vehicle.
