• Commander Nemo [2]

Finished Commander Nemo over the long weekend. Pretty happy with how he came out. I airbrushed on the OSL effects to the electrical portions of his backpack and staff. Then added in the individual photovoltaic portions with Hawk Turquoise mixed with Skull White, blending up to a pure white highlight.

The blue armor was giving a wash of Nuln Oil and a couple of highlights of Enchanted Blue mixed with Ice Blue. I found a couple of areas I'd missed such as the armored plates on his boots. I painted in the blue armor plating, and the boots were painted with Rhinox Brown, highlighted with XV-88, and then washed with Devlan Mud to blend in.

The bronze armor was painted with Tin Bitz, then Dwarven Brass, washed with Devlan Mud, and then highlighted with Shining Gold. A highlight of Leadbelcher was added to the edges of the metal plates.

The base was a mix of sand and rock, basecoated with black, then dry brushed with Rhinox Brown, and highlighted with a dry brushing of Bleached Bone. Some midland tufts were glued to the base. I kept the base fairly simple as your not going to be able to see a lot of detail as the figure takes up most of the base anyway. To finish Nemo was giving a couple of sprays of flat varnish, and dried with a hair dryer to avoid clouding the varnish.
